Abstract
We found that in some cases the gelation phenomenon does not lead, as previously expected, to the complete gelation when the mass of the disperse system goes to zero. We found analytically and computationally that the mass may decay to a positive limit value. The analytical justification is based on the detailed analysis of a degenerated quasilinear equation whereas the computations possess the proper reliability thanks to the parallel computations of the adjoint problem. As a corollary, our method allows to discover phase transitions using adjoint processes.
