Abstract
This presentation explores the flow rate properties of deformable particles in confined geometries, with a particular emphasis on active deformation and its effects on mobility. Using minimal models of self-propelled particles, we simulate their behavior in various configurations, such as flow through constrictions and in crowded environments. By introducing active deformation, where particles change their size or shape over time, we demonstrate how these dynamics can optimize flow rates and prevent jamming at high densities. The results reveal an optimal frequency of deformation that enhances particle throughput, providing insights into the fundamental principles of efficient transport in complex systems.
